Derek Chisora names Tyson Fury as pound-for-pound best in boxing, not Canelo Alvarez or Vasyl Lomachenko
Derek Chisora has stated that he believes Tyson Fury is the pound-for-pound best fighter in boxing today.
The 35-year-old heavyweight was beaten by the ‘Gypsy King’ twice in 2011 and 2014, with these experiences seemingly making an impression.
Despite most in the sport naming either Vasyl Lomachenko, Terence Crawford, Canelo Alvarez or Naoya Inoue as their pound-for-pound king, Chisora thinks differently.
“I have to go with Tyson Fury, man,” he told JD Sports.
“Because when he was on his form and before he got slapped off the rails, I think he’d become the pound-for-pound straight away, if there were no mess-ups.”
Fury’s next fight is almost certain to see him rematch Deontay Wilder early next year.
Meanwhile, Chisora is due to take on David Price on October 26 after original opponent Joseph Parker pulled out due to illness.
