Former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho sends message to Roberto Firmino on Instagram amid Barcelona struggles
The Brazil midfielder moved to Catalonia in a £142million move in January 2018
Philippe Coutinho has reached out to close friend and Brazil teammate Roberto Firmino as his struggles with Barcelona continue.
The midfielder has struggled in his first full season at Camp Nou and was jeered by fans during their victory over Rayo Vallecano.
Despite costing the Catalan giants a whopping £142million and then starring at the World Cup in Russia, Coutinho has just not cut it in Spain.
He was snubbed by boss Ernesto Valverde for back-to-back Clasico clashes with Real Madrid and his absence has not affected the Reds at all.
Sitting in second place and just one point behind Manchester City, Jurgen Klopp’s side are potentially heading towards the first ever Premier League title win in their history.
With Mohamed Salah struggling somewhat, Firmino has stepped up to the plate and scored a brace at Anfield in the victory over Burnley.
And in his celebratory Instagram post after the game, the striker had a message from Coutinho.
“Joga muito…. Craque”, Coutinho commented – which roughly translates to “Plays very ace.”
The comment was accompanied by two applauding emojis as Coutinho hailed his international colleague.
The former Reds hero has been linked with a return to the Premier League to rivals Manchester United this summer.
