Shooting in broad daylight leaves 1 dead in Camden

Authorities are investigating a shooting that left one man dead in Camden Saturday afternoon. 

The shooting took place around 12:41 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of 27th and Berkley streets, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. 

Jovany Torres, 27, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was found lying on the ground, authorities said. 

He was taken to Cooper University Hospital and pronounced dead just after 1 p.m., according to the prosecutor’s office. 

No arrests had been made as of Sunday, authorities said, and the investigation was ongoing.
