Swansea’s Bersant Celina endures penalty horror show at West Brom as he slips and fails to shoot
It was a quite remarkable spot kick for all the wrong reasons
Bersant Celina’s penalty summed up Swansea’s performance as they slumped to a 3-0 defeat at West Brom on Wednesday.
Chris Brunt, Mason Holgate and Jay Rodriguez bagged for the Baggies, however headlines were stolen by the away side’s bizarre spot kick failure.
With the score at only 1-0, former Manchester City man Celina was given the chance to equalise from 12 yards when Mike van der Hoorn was fouled by Ahmed Hegazi.
Unfortunately for the Swans, he slipped as he approached the ball and ended up scuffing it weakly off to the side, failing to get a shot on goal.
West Brom ‘keeper Sam Johnstone was bemused by the penalty, but defenders quickly rushed in and smashed the loose ball away to safety.
