  1. A gong farmer would be worse than a groom of the stool. Gong is an old word for poop, & a gong farmer would clean out the pits that mideval people would poop into.

  2. How about an iron lung worker? It used to be a company of people taking care of kids with polio in a machine called the iron lung to help then breathe. But that company went out of business a while back…

  3. One job you forgot to mention was a news boy who gave out papers back in the 1700-1800s and early 1900s. They were normally teen boys and most were orphans and poor. They started to die out in the 1800s with the news boy strikes of 1890s and died in the 1940s when news companies stopped hiring them. It’s actually really interesting to learn about. 😁

  4. I've been in a coal mine…I thought we were stuck…we got out eventually…it's not fun at all…I'm under the age of 16…I'm not from the us I'm British…the door was jammed…we were stuck for 2 hours…we finally got out and never ever EVER went near that place again

  5. I know this makes me seem old, but I was a part-time switchboard operator in the summer before and during my senior year of high school (1970's). I think some older companies may have used them longer than that, maybe the 1980's, but I could be wrong. Now most companies use the VIOP .
