  1. I'd actually swap numbers 1 and 2. His volley against Newcastle was the absolute pure angst and explosiveness that characterised Rooney in his early years which made him so special.

  2. Even though I'm a long suffering Spurs fan,I can still appreciate Genius..The first time I saw Rooney was in a British bar in Law Vegas(where I've lived since 99)I arrived late to a International game Vs Turkey or Greece? In 2003 and I didn't know who he was..When I asked a Guy,he gave me a strange look and said"That's Rooney"with a.Puzzled expression.(I hadn't following the Prem for the 4 seansons or so,u only saw the odd game&I was working a lot..But after that I paid full attention, and I was in the UK for the whole of 04 so i got to pay attention to this new "Boy wonder"..I do believe for possibly 2 or 3 yrs he was the best player in the world(He was better than Ronaldo)but he should Have taken better care of himself ..We.knew he could play Sublime football, with that rare ability to pull out the Ace Card but as u get older u have to work even harder at ur Fitness levels(which to Ronaldos credit he certainly did)-and that's what one of Uniteds former Fitness trainers said..He said "Ronaldo was co-operative&willing to do Gym work, lift some Weights and Wayne wasn't interested!"But he has still been a magnificent Servant to both Man U and England..I wish I had seen him play live..Maybe I will have 2take trip to the Capital(take in the sites and watch his new Team)

  3. The newcastle one was amazing because he was having a heated debate with the referee five seconds before that ball came down to him and he smashed it in almost out of anger or frustration. Excellent hit. Young rooney was brilliant
